Male reproductive, mental and psychosexual health
Welcome to our website, where you can read about male reproductive and psychosexual health, as well as mental health issues related to infertility
When it comes to the topics covered on this website, the quality of our sources is important, which is why we created this platform. The scientific articles written and edited by our colleagues are designed to help with this. On the website, those interested can find professionals working in the fields of andrology, psychology, psychiatry and reproductive health (“ELLÁTÓHELYEK”). With the help of our questionnaire, respondents can receive feedback on their current psychological and psychosexual condition and lifestyle (“TESZT”) related to fertility.
Our aims
Our educational website has three objectives:
In order to maintain and restore proper reproductive and psychosexual health, three key areas must be addressed:
Anna Juhász
Certified psychologist in doctoral training, integrative therapist candidate
Borbála Végh
Reproductive health counselor and infertility consultant, clinical embryologist, molecular biologist
Based on a biopsychosocial approach, it is now clear that in treating physical problems that make it difficult to have children, it is necessary to consider both the medical-biological (e.g., physiological abnormalities) and psychological (e.g., changes in emotional states) aspects of this life situation. The experience of examinations and treatments can leave an imprint on the mental state of both the men affected and their partners.
The image of men and masculinity in society
From the earliest periods of our history, the guarantee of a man's masculinity has been the ability to father children and produce offspring. As a result, male infertility is often associated with shame and stigma, even today. By collecting and sharing evidence-based information on our website, we aim to nuance the image of male fertility and its disorders and to provide our readers with the information they need.
Interdisciplinary collaboration for men's health
Until recently, the development of two relatively young scientific fields, andrology and reproductive psychology, had little overlap, but the literature also points to the fact that cooperation between these two fields is essential for the integrative care of male reproductive and sexual health. With menrepro.hu, we would like to present and showcase the scientific results and activities of the related fields to date, as well as provide an opportunity for joint reflection.
